Welcome Messages

CHAIRMAN

NUWAN SAPUMAL OPATHA

""This is the maiden budget statement presented by me after assuming office as the Chairman of the Lunugala Pradeshiya Sabha, and it marks the 15th program budget presented since the establishment of the Lunugala Pradeshiya Sabha. Representing the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, I am deeply committed to doing my utmost over the next four years to build the foundation required to create a highly developed region with rapid growth by providing leadership, guidance, direction, and counsel for the infrastructure development of the Lunugala authority area. The guidance and counsel of Hon. Chamara Sampath Dassanayake, who provided leadership to me as the guiding force of the Podujana Peramuna in the Badulla District, served as a immense strength to my political journey. As a Pradeshiya Sabha that provides services from birth to death of an individual, I expect through this budget to upgrade infrastructure and elevate the standard of living of the local residents by fulfilling public needs without fail—with maximum frugality, efficiency, and proper management. It is my hope to ensure that the services provided by the Pradeshiya Sabha are not limited solely to Lunugala town, but are extended equitably across all divisions in the Lunugala constituency. I aim to develop Madolsima town, which currently receives minimal services, and provide active services through its sub-office. Through this budget, I expect to arrange the necessary steps to upgrade the infrastructure for the people of Madolsima town, Metigahatenna / Akeriya Section 19 / Pallekiruwa, as well as to improve clean drinking water facilities in Arawakumbura. To systematic the currently unplanned layout of Lunugala town, I intend to raise the living standards of the people through town development by removing the old commercial complex and constructing a new commercial complex. Through my budget statement, I aspire to elevate the Lunugala area into a highly developed region by uniting all ethnic groups living within the Pradeshiya Sabha area, properly harnessing youth energy for the development of the region, and fostering religious harmony. Thank you. Nuwan Sapumal Opatha, Chairman, Pradeshiya Sabha, Lunugala.""

Secretary

A.PUSHPARAJ

""I consider it a privilege to contribute to the preparation of the 14th Programmed Budget presented by the Lunugala Pradeshiya Sabha. It is my primary responsibility to implement and fulfill the proposals, ideas, and aspirations of the people living within the Lunugala Pradeshiya Sabha area.At this time when the Lunugala Pradeshiya Sabha stands dissolved, I believe that my staff and I were able to fulfill the essential needs of the public in our area to the maximum extent during the year 2024—including health, roads and buildings, water, public utility services, as well as welfare activities. To turn the ideas, proposals, and objectives of the residents into reality in the year 2025, I expect that my staff and I, with great dedication, will systematically deliver an efficient and productive public service. We will adhere to proper financial administration and discipline under the guidance of the Commissioner of Local Government, utilizing council funds as well as allocations received under other development projects, to realize the current Government's vision of 'A Rich Country - A Beautiful Life'. I pray that we receive the strength to develop both physical and human resources within the Lunugala Pradeshiya Sabha area.Thank you... A. Pushparaj Council Secretary, Pradeshiya Sabha, Lunugala."
