Gammadde Kalalaya 2026 July
"Gammedde Kalalaya" which brought new life to the Roberiya Tamil Village - July 2026 Program! Under the valuable guidance of the Hon. Chief Secretary of the Uva Province, the "Gammedde Kalalaya" program organized by the Meegahakiula Pradeshiya Sabha was successfully and grandly held recently at the Roberiya Tamil Village. This turned into a wonderful day that brought the public and the public service together under one roof! The Hon. Chairman of the Meegahakiula Pradeshiya Sabha, the Secretary of the Sabha and its staff, Hon. Councilors, the Officer-in-Charge of the Madolsima Police Station, the Public Health Inspector, the Medical Officer of the Roberiya Hospital, officials of the Meegahakiula Divisional Secretariat, principals of neighboring schools, as well as a large gathering of villagers participated in this special occasion. Special highlights of this program: Instant solutions to people's problems: With the aim of building a Transparent Public Service, educating the public, identifying their problems, and providing immediate on-the-spot solutions to issues that could be resolved instantly took place here. Also, obtaining the valuable ideas and suggestions of the public through the newly introduced "Transparency Box" (Supilipanna Pettiya) was a special feature! A new light for the village: As identified during previous discussions, we were able to repair all the inactive street lamps in the Roberiya area and install new street lamps in the most essential locations. Roberiya now has a new light! A Shramadana (voluntary clean-up) with love for the environment: Taking the initial step towards making our beautiful "Mini World's End" (Punchi Lokanthaya) a Plastic-free zone, a massive cleaning program was launched with the contribution of office officials. A new look for the place that shares knowledge: The Pitamaruwa Public Library was painted to give it a fresh look, creating a more pleasant environment for the readers. Our heartfelt thanks to the beloved villagers who joined hands for the development of the village, and to all the public officials who worked with dedication! The Meegahakiula Pradeshiya Sabha will continue to be there for you in the future as well.
