"Under the national theme "A Prosperous Country, A Beautiful Life," the current term of the Meegahakiwula Pradeshiya Sabha—within the Badulla District of the Uva Province—officially commenced on May 16, 2025, under the title "Renaissance City" (Punurudaye Purawaraya). With the primary objective of fulfilling the long-standing aspirations of the people in the Meegahakiwula region who have endured hardships for years, I intend to use this opportunity to take the foundational steps necessary to build a prosperous country and a beautiful life at the rural level. Our approach centers on a people-centric administration, where public funds are utilized with strategic planning and absolute transparency to eradicate poverty and provide essential public utility services. As a local government institution, my sole objective is to identify the genuine grievances of the people and harness the skills and talents of all council members, transcending party politics and divisions.
